For a company lost to us and we are 5 squares of the small fort.
The plain is covered with Russian corpses.

Regrettably the Russians were cunning(malignant) and sacrificed a "screen" of cavalry and light infantrymen to slow down our progress.

This screen is now cleaned but we are going to miss reserve to advance(move) at once...

Sirs,

Columns 216,217,218 are cleaned!
It is a good thing!

On the other hand our conversion of attack of 90° eastward created some congestions!
It's not serious because when the spring is going to slacken the life will not be easy for the Russians.

Their resistance it is hardened and it is good because to win without danger, we triumphed without glory...

The officers who have their potential today (and who are not in the front line but they are a few), keep it for tomorrow May 22nd (or for a "zerk" may 23rd).

The officers, in the front line, can advance(move) and\or fire.

Our first objective is the control of the zone 220-70.

Our main targets:

- Mikhail Reedonov (forest in 218-72)
- Art Futs de la Tsarine (Russian artillery) in 223-69 for the riders or the officers who zerk*

* (zerk = a powerfull way to attack, you activate your turn but you dont play,when you are almost ready to activate your next turn you play your 10 "PA" then you activate your new turn and you play your new 10 "PA" , so 10 + 10 = 20 "PA" in a very short time).

Begin an assault today which will be decisive and is going to shake the whole Russian front!

The 36 hours which come will have a major importance for the continuation(suite) of the operations.

I ask you all for a very big discipline and for a spirit of exemplary sacrifice.

The objective of the Regiment is to seize the zone 222-70, then to occupy eventually(later) the sector going from 218 to 230 at the level of lines 70/72. We shall thus have the 18th on our left ( 230-249 ) and the 30th on our right ( 203-217 )

A single word: superb !!
This attack was a costly one in troops but was 3 times as many for the Russians!
We reached our objectives. And there is almost nothing more east of our positions.
It is now necessary to strengthen this success.



All the companies of the Regiment goes to the sector 219-230 between lines 70 and 72.
We are going to take time to reconstitute our reserves before pursuing the action and establishing the junction with the 18th.

Resist to the tentation to do an attack (even easy) somewhere else. I absolutely need everybody between 219-72 and 230-72.

The new French small fort is going to be built just behind us, it is necessary to us to hold this zone without failing. Let us show that (as in the destruction of the russian regiment " Grenadiers of Pavlov " in front of the town of Polotsk) the 3rd is worth as much in the defence as in the attack.

Once on zone, take advantage of all the wood to strengthen you.

All the Northeast of the map is cleaned.
Three towns ; "Amber", "Turquoise" and "Sapphire" to us as well as all the resources.
We thus enter a new phase.

Let us take into account instructions of the General Staff, here is the orders for every unit.

3rd Regiment.
Mission: flank in Notheast the 30th to facilitate its taking of "Canape".
Look for the contact with the Russian units probably in the zone the North of "Gévaudan".

8th Regiment Mission: cross" the river in A6 and pursue the progress towards "Cactus". Take a road very in the North to avoid the contacts.

18th Regiment Mission: push away the enemy in E-F4 in contact with the 30th and the Autunnois.
The mission of the 18th is major because it is the pivot of our device.

30th Regiment to Take position between "Sofa" and "Dolmen" by pushing away the present Russians. It is necessary to be very offensive to seize these points-keys of the ground.
All the Artillery of the Ist army corps is put at the disposal of the 30th.

1st Division of cavalry.
